Pemberton 2017

A couple years ago some of my close friends went on a boys trip down to Perth’s South West to celebrate my Bachelors Weekend away. It was an amazing trip, with many laughs, below is the video I made while we were down there, along with some photos from the trip as well. I am playing Catch Up on a whole bunch of Posts that I had started ages ago but never got round to finishing. So let this be the first of many posts.

Engelberg

SNOW! This was my first thought getting off the tour bus at our hotel, I hadnt seen snow in over 15 years so I felt like a little kid again when I was crunching over the snow walking to the hotel. Switzerland is a country that has beauty where ever you might look, it was hard to take a bad photo while there. As much as I loved the snow, I would like to go back to Switzerland to see what the country looks like when the green is popping!

Lowis Wedding

Earlier this year I was asked by some good friends to Photograph their beach wedding, it was such an awesome day. Small, simple and filled with so much fun and love. I am really happy with how these images ended up coming out, and I am happy to say that the happy couple also loved their photos.

If you, or anyone you know, is looking at getting married soon and are needing a wedding photographer dont hestiate to get in touch for a custom wedding packkage made up just for you.

Rome

Rome is a city that is steeped in so much history, that ranges through so many different time periods. I love a city that has signs of its past, and with Rome, you cannot look anywhere without seeing something that has been in that same place for hundreds of years. Rome wasn't my favourite city that we visited on our Euro trip, but it was more the people than the city itself.

Paris

Paris was a bit of a shock while we were driving in to the city, it looked so run down and nothing like what you see in the movies. But once we were in the heart of the city we were pleasantly surprised, I can say that this city stole my heart. It will always be special to me, not only is it a beautful city, with some really amazing people (which suprised me after hearng the horror stories from other people) but it is also the city I proposed to my. then, girlfriend. It is a day that I can remember so clearly and that makes it truly special to me.

London

London is a city that I have wanted to visit for as long as I can remember, there is a special mystique about this city. It may be because so much of our history is tied to this city. I love history, and unfortunately I live in a city that doesn't have much in the way of history, and what history there is, has been torn down to make way for 'modern' living. Walking the streets is like being in a candy shop, there is something to photograph or video everywhere you look. It is another city that I want to return to as soon as possible.

Black & White Architecture

Greetings everyone.

Well I really haven't been good at keeping these posts going, it's been pretty crazy since my last post. Also I haven't really been out taking that many photos lately, hopefully that'll change soon. If not I do have a ton of images that are in my back catalogue that I haven't even looked at yet. I'll do a proper, 'Self Update' soon so I'll leave all those juicy details for later. Rather lets look at some photos I have taken recently.

Architecture has been a subject that I've loved with for a very long time, it's a major reason why I work in the field as well. When I started my photography I was shooting architecture in more abstract ways, tending to focus on some of the architectural details rather than the building/structure as a whole. It was a great way to get into photography in general as I learnt a lot about composition and lighting, also buildings don't change ... well normally they really shouldn't. Photographing buildings is very different, compared to say model or fashion photography. Directing people is something I am still learning to feel comfortable doing, so being free to photograph a building at my leisure is what inspired me to try different types of shooting and helped me boost my confidence in my photographic ability

I haven't really don't much architectural photography for a long time, and it was an opportunity through work that got the architectural photographic inspired juices flowing again. Since then I've started to shoot more and have also invested in a nice 17-40mm wide angle lens. I've had a blast getting to play with the super wide focal range. It really isn't a range that I've ever shot at before. With these images, I have always loved Black and White photography as well so mixing the high contrast of B&W with the architectural lines creates an interesting look.

Anyway I hope you’ve enjoyed these, let me know in the comments below what you think. Otherwise I will be back with some more posts soon.

Mike.
